Thermal Insulatıon Board Adhesıve
BOYTİM 802

Description:
Cement-based polymer added thermal insulation board adhesive.
Areas of Use:
It is used for adhering thermal insulation boards (XPS, EPS, rock
wool), which are the elements of the jacketing system that will be
used on surfaces plastered with greton, reinforced concrete, brick,
and cement plaster indoors and outdoors.
Advantages:
• Adapts easily to the applied surface.
• High adherence.
• Has high bonding feature.
• Does not slip in vertical applications.
• Resistant to sudden weather changes.
Application Information:
Application Temperature: (+5°C) – (+35°C)
Mixing Ratio: 5.5-6.5 lt water / 25 kg powder
Usable period: 2 hours
Incrustation time: 20 minutes
Average Consumption: 4-5 kg/m²
*These values are valid for 23°C and 50% relative humidity. Times
may vary depending on ambient conditions.
Surface Preparation:
-The application surface should be made clean from dust, dirt, oil,
paint residue, and similar foreign matters reducing adherence.
-It should be ensured that the application surfaces are set.
If there are deformed, fractured, cracked areas on the surface, they
should be repaired with BOYTİM REPAIR 3 days in advance.
The floor should be wetted and moistened.
Mixture Preparation:
25 kg BOYTİM 802 Thermal Insulation Board Adhesive is added
slowly to 5.5-6.5 lt water. Stirred until a homogeneous mixture is
obtained with a trowel or a low-speed mixer, leaving no lumps. The
mortar which is rested for 5 minutes is then stirred again and made
ready for use.
The prepared mixture should be used within a maximum of 2 hours,
and the mixtures that are waiting to be used during this period
should be stirred intermittently. Any mortar, which has started to
harden or has expired, should not be used.
Application:
Prepared mixture is applied as a strip along the edges to enclose
the insulation board with 4-5 cm width, 1 cm thickness. Care should
be taken to leave 5 mm gaps on the edges of the board. It should
be applied to the remaining part in the middle area in three parts
with 3 groups method. Approximately 40% of the insulation board
should be covered with adhesive. The prepared boards are laid by
pressing on the surface by hand and by checking their planes with
a gauge.
If the surface is smooth; adhesive mortar can be applied to the
back of the boards by carding method. Check whether the boards
are at the same level during the bonding process with a gauge or
spirit level.
-Plaster should be applied after 2-3 days depending on weather
conditions on the insulation boards adhered with BOYTİM 802 .
– Plugging process can be started after 24 hours.
To prevent heat transfer, the contact points of the insulation boards
must be continuous and no mortar should swell from the edges. If
there is excess adhesive in between, it should be scraped before
drying and cleaned with a damp sponge.
Should not be applied in temperatures below 5°C.
-Should not be applied on surfaces that are exposed to direct
sunlight and wind without taking protective measures.
Foreign materials should never be mixed into the mortar.
After application, all used tools should be washed with plenty of
water before drying.
Warnings:
Do not breathe the product directly, as it is cement-based. Avoid
contact with skin and eyes.
